The Final Journey

The first in a series of historic murals in Central Frontenac, "The Final Journey" depicts Sir John A. Macdonald's draped funeral train by the station in Sharbot Lake in June 1891. Sir John A. travelled through Sharbot Lake frequently on his way from Kingston to Ottawa. This mural was painted in 2006 by Donna & Rodger with help from Brenda Giuseppin & Sarah Hale. 28' x 10' on DiBond panels with Keim mineral based paints for longevity. The man standing at the front of the locomotive is Rodger's great-grandfather, Bill MacMunn (1865 - 1947).

The Kingston Cotton Milling Co.

This mural is on the south side of The Woolen Mill, on Cataraqui St. in Kingston. It's honours some of Kingston's industrial heritage in the late 1870's & 1880's with the focus on the mill & the locomotive works. Completed in June 2007, this mural is about 19' x 27' & is painted directly on the brick with Keim mineral based paints.
